An eye for an eye, a car for a car

The same forces of the universe that conspire to put Tax Day very near the deadline for most of my papers this semester sent two additional challenges my way this week: a scratched cornea (dimpled, really) and a busted car. Each meant depending on others for transportation temporarily.

So what have I learned from these challenges? Going without a contact lens gave me a new appreciation for people who spend the day with half their heads underwater. To deepen my sympathy, I played lots of Chowder, a new game from the pushers that brought us Snood.

Going without a car, meanwhile, took me back to my childhood, those distant days when I could not drive myself. I wish I could say the same for the $630 bill.

And now, back to homework, which gives me a new appreciation for the fact that I am now finishing my last two classes.

  • Laura...don't know if you'll get this while in TBE but I was looking at Southern Living today while at Sanderson HS and they said that Longue Vue Gardens and home was beautiful this time of year. It's near the FQ but costs 10bucks per or on Tuesday for tea it's 25.

  • Hey Stranger, it's Ansley! I know I dropped off the planet. I miss talking to you and the old gang. I couldn't make it to reunion again, but would love to catch up with you and maybe even visit. I have to run, as I am doing this on the sly at work. E-mail me when you can ael135@yahoo.com.
