Win a prize!
As I've spent the last several weeks settling into my new job and life in Tampa, I've often been tempted to sit down and write a big, comprehensive post about that whole process. But only something small and needling has finally prompted me to blog:
There's a billboard here in Tampa for Ford cars. "Sticks to the road like a positively charged electron," it says.
First person to write a comment telling me what's wrong with that gets a T-shirt.

Positively charged electrons can't stick to the road. And when did Ford trucks "stick" to the road????
Now, where is my T-shirt? Nancy ;-)

And aren't electrons negatively charged???

protons equal positive charges..............electrons are negatively charged............ and neutrons are not normally charged.....mum

Apparently, everyone else beat me to it, and I won't win a t-shirt. Oh well, it is cold here anyway, and I don't really need a t-shirt. Maybe a wool sweater for those of us up north?
As the daughter of a physicist, I know that electrons are negatively charged.
And, my post is the longest, that's got to count for something.

And I do expect my T-shirt when I visit you tomorrow. See you in less than 24 hours.
