Fin del Mundo The first things to greet us as we approached Ushuaia were the snow-capped peaks. From their cloud-brushing heights to the sea, this view offers the whole of natural history. We applauded the pilot as he landed on the spit of land that houses the Ushuaia airport's runway. "You expected something else?" he said. There followed a bus ride to the pier, and several hours of waiting around the Marco Polo for the previous passengers to disembark. Excuse the greasy nose above. By this point I was desperate for a shower. I didn't take many pictures during the settling-in phase, so we'll now skip directly to the penguins. |
